Programme Fees

CATO offers the following services the following quality services at much reduced programme fees. We are non profit and our fees are just right for the low budget volunteer.

Meals: The programme fee covers three Ghanaian meals a day - breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

First Night Bed and Breakfast (Hotel Accommodation in Accra): Usually, volunteers arrive late in the night. We do not recommend travel to place of volunteer if you arrive very late in the night. We provide first night hotel accommodation in Accra and transfer you to the placement of volunteer the morning of your arrival.

Accommodation: We arrange for you to stay with host family, in a hostel or in Guest houses depending on your programme of choice. You will live in clean and comfortable accommodation. You will either live in single of shared rooms depending on availability. Volunteers must bring their own sleeping gears.

Volunteer Placement: We find the best projects and assignments that will match your interest, skills and related experience. You will receive detailed information about your volunteer work prior to departure. Detailed information includes volunteer assignment sheet, accommodation information, proposed itinerary upon arrival and many more.

Airport transfer: CATO staff in Ghana will meet you at airport with a placard bearing the volunteers name. We will provide you with cell phone numbers of CATO staff that will meet you at the airport. CATO will also provide the address, phone numbers of the first night hotel just in case the volunteer miss CATO staff at the airport. Volunteer flight information (flight number, flight name and time of arrival) is very important for this arrangement.

In-country ground transportation: CATO transfers the volunteer one-way to the place of volunteer. Volunteers will be responsible for their return trip with the help of CATO staff. CATO staff is available to help you do your personal travel at your expense.

Country Support: We provide country support for volunteers in Ghana. Some of this support includes shopping, personal travel, project visits and many more. We provide volunteer with cell phone numbers of CATO staff and CATO Office phone numbers should the volunteers require any help.

Pre-departure information: CATO provides comprehensive pre-departure information to volunteers. Information includes information on Ghana etc.

Visa Preparation Advice: CATO provides volunteers with visa applications, guidelines for application for visa, two references in Ghana required for visa applications and helps applicants with any questions they may have concerning their visas. In case an invitation is required for a visa, CATO will provide visa applicants with the invitation letter. CATO also provides applicants with all the vaccinations required for entering Ghana and also recommends other vaccinations to volunteers.

Emergency contact: CATO will provide you with 3-4 mobile telephone numbers of CATO staff in Ghana for emergency contact. (these numbers are available for use at all times-24/7). Volunteers will also get contact details to pass along to family, friends before departure.
